Akiha Onsen Hanasui is a day-trip hot spring set in the satoyama countryside of Niigata City. The hot spring water rises from 1,000–1,200 meters underground, and its main component is fossil seawater roughly 4.5 million years old. The spring is a bicarbonate spring with pale greenish-brown water. It also has the spa treatment salon “Loisir,” which offers more than 30 courses. Opening hours are 9:30 to 21:30. It is open every day of the year. It is about a 30-second walk from Higashi-Niitsu Station on the JR Banetsu West Line. It is about 10 minutes from Niitsu IC on the Banetsu Expressway, and the parking lot has space for 150 cars.
