Ayabe Onsen Niou no Yu

Ayabe Onsen Nioukan, located in Mutsuai-cho, Ayabe, Kyoto, is a day-use hot spring facility quietly nestled in the satoyama upstream of the Yura River. Surrounded by the rich nature of Kamihayashi in northern Kyoto, the facility offers beautiful satoyama scenery from the rooms and hot spring. The water is called "Bijin no Yu" (Hot Spring of Beauty) and features a medicinal bath with various Chinese herbs and an open-air bath. It is said to be effective for stiff shoulders and joint pain, and is reputed to leave the skin smooth after bathing. Open 10:00-21:00 (last entry 20:30), closed every Monday (or the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). Day-use bathing: Adults 600 yen, Children (3 to elementary) 300 yen. Sauna and parking available. Also popular as a base for river play, camping, and glamping in Ayabe.
