Hagien is a ryokan tucked quietly away in the gentle countryside hills of Nagai, Yamagata. Its hot spring, Hagi no Yu, is a powerful yet gentle free-flowing spring drawn up from 1,000 meters underground. There is an open-air bath and a bedrock bath, and the spring type is hydrogen carbonate spring. Inside, a somewhat nostalgic Japanese atmosphere blends comfortably with clean, calm furnishings. The annex also has apartment-style rooms for business travelers.
