Kurobe Onsen Motoyu Shiki no Yu is a day-use hot spring in the mountain village of Kurobe, Nikko, Tochigi, where the Kinugawa and Torobe rivers meet. Its 100% free-flowing spring water comes directly from an on-site private source, with no heating, added water, circulation or disinfection. The water is a weakly alkaline simple hot spring with a pH of 9.8. The bathing area consists only of an open-air bath overlooking the mountains. The facility may close in winter (around early November to late April) in some years.
