Tsuruno-yu, located in a residential area of Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is a Showa retro-style public bathhouse beloved by locals for years. The water is a simple weakly radioactive cold mineral spring (low-tonicity neutral cold mineral spring). The bathhouse features an electric bath, jet bath, cascade bath, herbal bath, bubble bath, cold plunge, and steam sauna, with the steam sauna at about 50 degrees Celsius for a gentle sweat. Open 11:00-23:00. Admission: adult (12+) 480 yen / middle school age (6-12) 200 yen / child (under 6) 100 yen. Access: about 15 minutes on foot from Aki-Aga Station on the JR Kure Line; about 4 minutes by car from Aga IC on the Higashi-Hiroshima-Kure Expressway.
