熊本県山鹿市にある山鹿温泉さくら湯は、1640年に肥後細川藩の山鹿御茶屋として始まったとされる歴史を持つ温泉です。明治31年には道後温泉の棟梁による改修が行われました。昭和48年に取り壊された後も、再開発ビル山鹿温泉プラザの一部として営業が続けられ、山鹿温泉の元湯として使われてきました。2012年には日本の伝統工法で再建された木造温泉として再開業し、九州最大級の規模の木造温泉です。館内には温泉資料室やさくら湯観光案内所も併設されています。泉質はアルカリ性単純温泉です。
