Yamashiro Onsen Kosoyu is a day-trip hot spring in Kaga, Ishikawa. It is a restoration of the Meiji-era public bathhouse (soyu), and Kutani ware tiles just as they were at the time are used on the exterior and on the interior floors and walls. It is described as a hands-on hot spring museum where even the bathing style lets you experience the atmosphere of that era. Hours are 6:00 to 22:00 (7:00 to 21:00 from December to February). It is closed on the morning of the fourth Wednesday of each month and opens as usual from noon. Admission is 700 yen for adults, 280 yen for older children and 140 yen for younger children, and free for children under 3. A combined ticket with Soyu is 1,000 yen. There are no faucets or showers, and soap and shampoo cannot be used.
