江戸末期嘉永2年（1849年）に開湯した九重の秘湯で。昭和3年創業の歴史ある温泉旅館。 最大の特徴は、毎分2トン湧出する13～14℃の冷泉で、混浴の冷泉浴槽と隣接するストーブで温まる「交互浴」が伝統。医学的にも療養効果が高いとされ、神経痛や打ち身などに効能があるといわれている。 冷泉は水着またはサウナウェア着用必須。2024年には「暖の地獄サウナ」が新設され、冷泉とサウナの本格的な温冷交互浴が楽しめる。 館内には男女別大浴場や半露天家族湯（3室）、貸切風呂もあり、家族やグループでも利用しやすい環境。
