Yado Hanaya Tokubei

Yado Hanaya Tokubei is a ryokan located at the uppermost reaches of Dorogawa Onsen, at an elevation of 800 meters. Founded 500 years ago, it is the oldest ryokan in Dorogawa Onsen and has continued as an inn for ascetic practitioners, welcoming Shugendo pilgrims. It is now run by the 17th-generation owner, Yoshiharu Hanatani. The wooden building uses local Yoshino timber and retains a nostalgic atmosphere. There are 8 room types: the new wing has open rooms with large decks, and the old wing has traditional Japanese-style rooms. There are three baths: Zenki no Yu, renovated in 2017; Goki no Yu, a semi-open-air bath overlooking the garden; and Zeku no Yu, a private bath available by reservation. At the restaurant "Gokiraku," the kaiseki cuisine served to overnight guests can also be enjoyed as a lunch by reservation, and wild boar hot pot is served in season. The spring type is a simple hot spring.
