別府駅から徒歩圏内の飲み屋街路地裏にひっそり佇む、1916年創業の歴史ある共同浴場。 2016年の熊本大分地震で一度閉館しましたが、地元と温泉愛好家の尽力で2018年にリニューアルオープン。古き良き温泉情緒を残しつつ、バリアフリー対応や足湯の新設など現代的な利便性も備えている。 浴室は男女別で、女湯が広め。梅の花をイメージした小皿や富士山の壁画など、温泉文化を感じる装飾が特徴。泉質は単純温泉で、やわらかい湯ざわり。飲泉も可能で、足湯の蛇口や浴室内で湯を味わうことができる。
