Snow Country Inn Takahan is a Japanese-style inn in Yuzawa, Niigata. Its hot spring water flows directly from a naturally occurring source in a cave and has been passed down for 900 years. It is also called Tamago-no-Yu because the floating spring deposits resemble a poached egg. The baths offer mountain views through the windows, and there is also an open-air bath. It is about 6 minutes by car from the Yuzawa Interchange and 5 minutes from the station. Hours are 8:00-12:00. Day-use bathing is not available; the baths are for staying guests, and the inn is open year-round.
